Italian course Naples, Italy

Our School Our Italian courses Accommodation

Discover the jewel of southern Italy – Naples! This ancient city is home to a rich historical heritage, unbeatable restaurants and incredible vistas! With towering Mt. Vesuvius in the distance and overlooking the beautiful bay which bears its name, Naples was founded by the Greeks around the 7th century BC. Since then, Romans, Saracens, Byzantines, Bourbons and countless other invaders have all left their mark on this elegant, fascinating city.

At nearby Pompeii, you can see a city frozen in time, perfectly preserved by ash and pumice from the devastating eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD. To the south are the glorious beaches and breathtaking views of the Amalfi coastline – the perfect break to complement your Italian course in Naples! In Naples itself you can admire dazzling palaces, awe-inspiring churches and famous artworks. Or enjoy some of the finest cuisine in the world, before succumbing to the temptations of the city's vibrant nightlife!

There are a wide range of programs on offer at our school, so there’s sure to be an Italian course in Naples that’s just right for you! With 20 Italian lessons per week in same-level groups, the Intensive course is one of the most popular options amongst students at our school.

It is possible to complement the Intensive program with either five or 10 one-to-one sessions each week. A Combined Course such as this allows you to practice your Italian conversation skills in groups, and then customize Private Lessons to suit your own particular needs.

For complete control over how you learn Italian in Naples, replace group lessons with Private Lessons, allowing you to decide upon the course curriculum and timetable. The Personalized Course also gives you a great deal of freedom to decide what aspects of the Italian language you learn. This course consists of 40 Italian sessions per week, including lunches with your teachers. Study on this program and your Italian will quickly improve!

If, on the other hand, you want to leave plenty of time for discovering the Neopolitan culture, the Semi-intensive course of six lessons per week is ideal! Gastronomy plays an important part in Neopolitan culture, so our school also offers programs in Italian cookery and Italian and Professional Pizza-making. As the birthplace of pizza, Naples is the natural place to learn how to create (and eat) delicious pizzas! Our school’s five- month course is a combination of three weeks learning to make pizzas, 20 Italian lessons during other weeks and work experience in a pizzeria! In the cookery lessons, everything from tasty local seafood to torta caprese (chocolate and almond cake) feature on the menu.

The Marina, Naples

We want you to have a great time while you learn Italian in Naples, so our school runs a varied activities program for your leisure time. Guided tours, pizza evenings in traditional ‘pizzerie’ and trips around Naples’ bars all introduce you to this wonderful city. Talks on the art, music and history of Naples, as well as that of Italy in general, will give you a better understanding of Neopolitan and Italian culture. Activities such as these are not only very enjoyable, they’ll help you get a step closer to total immersion in the Italian way of life!

Our school also organizes some exciting excursions around the Campania region, of which Naples is a part. See the ancient cities of Herculaneum and Pompeii, which remain as they were almost 2000 years ago, when they were hit by a cataclysmic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. You can also visit Vesuvius itself, peering over the crater’s edge to look into the Earth’s fiery interior! Other possible destinations for excursions are Sorrento and Capri, both renowned for their natural beauty, and Pozzuoli, home to mud baths and an impressive Roman amphitheatre. There’s so much to see and do in the area around Naples, you’ll want to come back again and again!
