Learn German in Austria

Austria is a beautiful, dramatic country and a great place to learn German! It is home to great natural splendour, elegant cities and a rich history.

Learn German in Austria and you will discover spectacular scenery, a wealth of culture and plenty to see and do when your German lessons are finished for the day. We have a school in the magnificent capital, Vienna, and another school in the skiers’ haven of Kitzbühel.

Wander around Vienna after German lessons and you’ll be awestruck with the variety of architectural wonders around you. Marvel at the Schönbrunn Palace, home to generations of Austrian monarchs, admire the Art Nouveau Vienna Secession building or enjoy a performance at the sumptuous Burgtheater.

Vienna’s museums house works by some of the most famous artists in the world, and the buildings are works of art in themselves. If sightseeing gives you an appetite, the city is brimming with fine restaurants and cafes where you can sample delicious local dishes.

If you want to learn German in Austria, an alternative to Vienna is our school in Kitzbühel. The city is smaller than the capital, but with many shops, bars, restaurants and sporting facilities, you’ll also find plenty to do in Kitzbühel.

Located in a picturesque valley between two mountains, Kitzbühel is famed for its ski slopes. As you learn German here, you can even take a course that will train you to become a ski or snowboarding instructor.

The maximum class size at our Kitzbühel school is just six students, giving you lots of personal attention from our experienced, native teachers. For even more individual time with teachers, choose a course of one-to-one lessons, available at either of our schools.

Our Vienna school offers a wide range of German courses, including Business German, German with Music and a Work Placement Course. For most of our courses, all levels of learner are welcome, but for some courses you will need an intermediate level of German.

On all of our German courses, the school organizes a packed activities program to run alongside German lessons. Guided tours of Vienna and Kitzbühel, films about Austrian culture and sporting activities will all help you get to know Austria and improve your language skills. Optional excursions to nearby cities and places of interest are also arranged by the schools.

Accommodation for your stay will also be organized by our schools. If you want to learn the language quickly, talking German over dinner with an Austrian family carefully chosen by our schools, a homestay might be the best option for you. Or you might prefer to practice your German with your fellow students, living in either a shared apartment or a student residence. Accommodation in hotels and private apartments can also be arranged by our schools, if you’d like more privacy.
